Fowey Christmas Market weekend, from Friday 29th November to Sunday 1st December, is a magical experience for all the family, set in a stunning location.
Staged over two sites, you’ll find one market on Fowey Town Quay right on the water’s edge, while the other is at the Leisure Centre at the top of town. Fowey Town Bus runs a shuttle service between the two.
Visitors now have a huge choice of quality and seasonal products, from Cornwall, Devon and beyond. Plus, with the many lovely places to shop, eat and drink around the town, it’s a Christmas shopping opportunity not to be missed.
New this year is late night shopping on Friday – local traders throughout the town will open till 7.30pm on Friday night, offering visitors a fantastic range of independent shops, great restaurants and cosy pubs.
On Friday, Father Christmas arrives in style from across the Fowey River, then leads a lantern procession through the town ending up outside the church. The town’s Christmas lights are switched on at 7pm after which the evening continues with music and a Hog Roast nearby. Also new this year is Santa’s Grotto on Webb Street.
The market itself opens from 10am-5pm on Saturday and 10am-4.30pm on Sunday, with 60 stalls including jewellery, art, photography, woodwork, pottery, slate and cards. The Craft Tent houses products made by the artisans working the stalls and the Gifts Tent offers affordable Christmas gifts.
Always popular is the Food Tent – mouth-watering chocolates, cheeses, ales, meats, herbs, spices, Christmas puddings, liqueurs – everything you need for a fabulous feast!
Throughout the weekend there is plenty of music and entertainment – including the Pirates of St Piran and Voiceworks Choir, as well as several hand-picked buskers around the town.
The Town Quay Market is brought to you by the Fowey Chamber of Commerce, while the one at the Leisure Centre is run by Dibb Events.
Happy Fowey Christmas Market!
