Huge congrats to all who took part in this year’s 29th Fowey River Triathlon, organised by Fowey River Lions since 1984.
To cycle up Polruan Mountain after swimming the Great Fowey River, and then having to run back from Lostwithiel – well, we’re puffed out just thinking about it.
There were 71 participants this year, with time ranging from an astounding 1hour 47 minutes to 3hours 21 minutes. Simon Andrews from Golant came in at 15th place, with former Fowey School pupils David Kotwinski in at 26th and Claire Turpin at 52nd.
A special mention must go go to local cycling and sailing legend Kerry Paul, the fastest woman – and at 23rd place overall she beat most of the blokes!
